Homecoming Comedy Show ft. John Mulaney
I created this series of promotional materials for University of Maryland's 2019 Homecoming Comedy Show, headlined by comedian John Mulaney. I was inspired by his whimsical, yet old-timey charm, and the concept of a vintage comic book aligned perfectly with the aesthetic I wanted to convey. I wanted to bring a sense of energy to the design through the use of bright colors, italicized fonts, and diagonal lines. It felt most appropriate to look to vintage Marvel magazines. I took inspiration from the juxtaposing font styles and emphasized stippling and hatching techniques.
