90212

90212 is a podcast, hosted by two college girls, that discusses the superficiality of Los Angeles. I wanted to hone in on the concept of a culture of skin-deep people. Each element of the design contributes to their commentary: from the fabricated characters in the real world to the sweet "Dum Dum" lollipop logo to the existential Hollywood sign. I looked to Bratz Dolls & Lizzie McGuire illustrations for proportion and facial feature inspiration, as they are both highly feminine character designs.

Who Are You?

The reimagined Hollywood sign carries two meanings: one being a phrase that acts as a snarky remark, suggesting this idea of perceived superiority that has swept those living in the heart of Los Angeles. Alternatively, this questions serves as something of an existential pondering, sincerely questioning the  viewer’s values as they try to navigate their own identity.
